These are some images from the area in which I live, the Holme Valley. The area is the location for the BBC TV series “Last of the Summer Wine”. These pictures reflect the reality of the area, which is a pleasing contrast of both rural and urban locations set in or near the Peak District National Park. I enjoy the cultural aspects of the area, showcasing a interesting mix of youth and alternative cultural aspects. I also find interest in the normal day to day aspects of the area which, in contrast to the BBC images of three men flying downhill in a bathtub, document the daily routines of life in the area. The images are from Holmfirth, Honley, Hade Edge and other locations within the Holme Valley. Should anyone wish to use these images then please feel free to contact me (editor at high-orbit.co.uk) and I would be happy for them to be used with a credit to this site.
I am an amateur photographer who is looking to practise and sharpen my skills and I would be more than happy to undertake any assignments for basic costs and a credit.
